National Beer Day (7 Apr), Easter (16 Apr), the dreaded Tax
Day (18 Apr), Earth Day (22 Apr), Secretary's Day [Now
Administrative Assistant's Day] (26 Apr), National Teacher's Day (2
May), Cinco de Mayo (5 May), National Nurses Day (6 May ), World Nude
Gardening Day (6 May) -- there's probably more, but I'll catch them
next year (maybe -- smile)
I'm going to do this in chronological order, so we'll start with National Beer Day (The day celebrates the effective date for the resumpstion of low-alchohol beer sales in the US prior to the repeal of the 18th Amendment)
Continuing on with Easter. (This is of course the secular version of Easter)
As I call it, the dreaded Tax Day (Usually 15 Apr, but this year 18 Apr). Lady Godiva is included, because she rode naked through the streets of Coventry to relieve the taxes on the citizens.
On to Earth Day
San Fransisco is always looking for a reason to go nude -- Earth Day is one of them (Peta gets into the act as well)
I'm going to bunch together Secretary's, Nurse's and Teacher's Days
On to Cinco de Mayo (5th of May) -- The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico. In the U.S. the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture.
And I'll finish up with World Nude Gardening Day
See you next time
